THE LIFEBANK REVOLUTION
In Lagos, Nigeria, Temie Giwa-Tubosun identified a dire challenge: thousands of lives lost annually because hospitals lacked timely access to essential medical supplies, especially blood. Motivated by her own experience during childbirth and the wider maternal health crisis, she founded LifeBank in 2016.
LifeBank uses technology, data, and logistics to connect blood banks with hospitals in urgent need, leveraging motorcycles, tricycles, boats, and drones to deliver critical supplies within hours.
Under her leadership, LifeBank has expanded beyond blood to deliver oxygen, vaccines, and other medical consumables, serving hundreds of hospitals in multiple African countries and pioneering platforms that track supply chains and save lives.
